Hyvä hotelli, ja tosi hyvällä paikalla. Lyhyt matka keskustan nähtävyyksiin ja hyvät kulkuyhteyksien varrella. Gülhane raitiovainu pysäkki on noin 50 m hotellista. Jos jotakin negatiivista pitää sanoo, niin ikkunan ulkopuolella oleva tuuletin surisi päiväsaikaan aika paljon. Hiljeni kyllä yöksi. Mutta onneksi päivisin oli riittämiin muuta puuhaa: Hamam kylpylä (se 1500 luvulta), Sin. moskeeja ja Hagia Sofia kannataa nähdä ja kokea. Ystävällinen paikallinen oppaaksi tarjoutuva voi ollakin mattokauppias...ja yks´kaks olet hänen kaupassansa.

What can I say. I really enjoyed Istanbul. It is a truly remarkable city. One I shall hope to visit again in the near future. All the staff were very very helpful in all aspects. In fact I am going to name some of them. They were Hawa, Engin, Ahmet, Urkan (assumed spelling), Ozmlet (Guest Service Manager) and one other who carried out the night shift with Ahmet. Sorry, but I forgot the name. Accept my apologies. I departed on Monday 20 June 2011 @ 6.00am. However, Urkan, Ahmet etc ensured that I received breakfast. I though this demonstrated true kindness. The main tourist sites are very local from the hotel (walking distance), making your stay very comfortable. The hotel was very nice and clean, rooms are a bit small, but the staff attitude, helpfulness etc made it very very worthwhile.

I have always enjoyed my stays (I went there several times). The rooms might be a bit small but they are super clean and offer everything a traveler needs. The view from the roof terrace is unmatched: Golden Horn, Bosporos, roofs of Topkapı Palace, the trees of Gülhane Park (depending on the season one can watch storks nesting) and finally Hagia Sophia. Breakfast and/or a drink at night on this terrace are unique experiences. In the neighborhood of the hotel there are little shops to buy snack and soft drinks. Pharmacies are also nearby. The staff of Yaşmak Sultan is very competent and friendly. There was only one incident which gave us reason to complain: We asked for a Bosporos cruise and got caught in a typical tourist trap. On any other occasion the staff – from reception to housekeeping – was just wonderful.
